Junior Coach Application!
My name is Elizabeth Winter and I am excited to return for my fourth season as the Head Coach for the Jambalaya Park Pool Dolphins Swim Team! I am a senior nursing student at Franciscan University with the ultimate goal to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am also minoring in Professional Communications and Psychology. I serve as the Student Government Association President along with many other leadership roles on campus. I am recently engaged to my wonderful fiancé, Nathan! He’ll be at all of the meets cheering our swimmers on :)
Under my coaching in 2019, the Dolphins placed 1st in our division at the City Championship meet. We also received the honor of the Al Robelot team quality award. For three years, I was the Assistant Coach for the Pelican Point Waves, as well as practicing as a swim trainer for many years prior to that. In that time, the Waves placed first in their division two consecutive years under the coaching of my sister and myself. I swam with the Dolphins from 2004-2010 and enjoyed every second! I swam with the Waves from 2011-2018 and also loved the team. I swam with Tiger Aquatics for 4 seasons, and I was a 4-time state championship qualifier with multiple top-three finishes. I’m excited to return for my third season as Head Coach with new ideas and energy to make the team its very best!
Cody Hurst is a Senior at Dutchtown High School. He’s been swimming competitively since he was 5 years old. Cody swam for the Pelican Point Waves, the Gonzales Dolphins, and Tiger Aquatics, receiving numerous awards and breaking records throughout the years. He also swam on the Dutchtown High School swim team for his entire high school career and participated in the last two LHSAA state swimming meets. He is excited for the promising season ahead and can’t wait to help take the team to the top!
My name is Stevi Dugas, and I am so excited to return for my second season as an assistant swim coach for the Jambalaya Park Pool Dolphins Swim Team! I swam on the Pelican Point Waves swim team for 9 years before swimming on the Tiger Aquatics swim team from 2018 until 2021. I also swam on the St. Amant Swim Team throughout high school, going to three state meets and named Captain my senior year. I am a recent graduate of St. Amant High School and River Parish Community College, where I participated in the Early College Option Program. This fall, I will be continuing my education at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. I am incredibly excited to meet everyone and promise to bring my best to help make this year the most awesome season yet!
